What documents do I need to join IBJ?
1.Identity and Marital Status Verification

1. Valid Passport (copy)

2. Australian Driver Licence or other government-issued ID

3. Birth Certificate

4. Proof of Marital Status (one of the following, as applicable): a. Statutory Declaration confirming Single Status. b. Divorce Certificate / Decree Absolute. c. Death Certificate of spouse (if widowed). d. In some cases, documents may require certification, notarisation, apostille, or official translation into English and/or Japanese.

2.Proof of Residence and Contact Details

1. Proof of Address (e.g., utility bill, bank statement, or government letter)

2. Active Contact Details: (Mobile phone number, Email address)

3.Employment and Income Verification (strongly recommended where applicable)

1. Employment Letter or Contract

2. Most recent Tax Notice of Assessment

3. Recent payslips or bank statements (3–6 months)

4. Business registration documents (if self-employed or a company director)

4.Education Verification

1. Copy of highest degree or academic qualification

5.Personal Profile and Photographs

1. Recent high-quality portrait photograph

2. Recent full-body photograph

3. Personal Profile Form (English or Japanese), including: Basic personal details, Family background, Hobbies and lifestyle, Views on marriage and family, Preferences for a future partner

6.Police and Character Checks (recommended)

1. Australian National Police Check

7.Health Declaration (if requested)

1. Signed health declaration form

2. Medical or vaccination records where required
